WACC Compiler

Developing a compiler for WACC (While-like) programming language that generates x86_64 Intel assembly.

  • Implemented comprehensive front-end components including lexical analysis, abstract syntax tree construction, and parser using Parsley parser combinator library.
  • Developed semantic analysis with robust error detection and reporting, ensuring type safety and proper scoping rules.
  • Created a code generator targeting x86_64 Intel assembly, supporting WACC's full feature set including arrays, pairs, and functions.

PintOS Operating System Implementation

Enhanced a barebones operating system based on Stanford University's PintOS project, implementing core OS functionality.

  • Developed advanced thread management features including synchronization mechanisms, Multi-Level Feedback Queue scheduling, and priority donation to prevent priority inversion.
  • Implemented comprehensive process management system with system call handling and user program support, enabling execution of user-space applications.

ARMv8 AArch64 – Emulator and Assembler

  • Developed emulator to simulate the execution of AArch64 on a Raspberry Pi, in C
  • Developed an assembler to translate AArch64 assembly source files into binary files that may subsequently be executed by the emulator.

Terra aim - Runner up at ICHack 2024

Hackathon Project

Runner Up (600+ entrants) - ICHack 24 (Highest placing first year undergraduate for chosen category)

Developed a prototype weapons aim training system integrating health metrics and performance feedback. Used ESP32 with gyroscopic sensors, OpenCV, and Unity for target tracking and visualization. Implemented data analysis with Flask and SQL, incorporating Terra API for health metrics.

Investigation into the Inception-v1 CNN architecture

2022

Research Project

Developed 200+ different test configurations of the inception-v1 module to optimize for training time and accuracy. Tested hundreds of additional configurations of subsampling stride and number of unique convolutions per module. Based on GoogLeNet network and "Going Deeper With Convolutions" by Szegedy et. al.

Neural Style Transfer upon VGG19

Research Project

Developed an implementation of Neural Style Transfer, based on the paper "A Neural Algorithm of Artistic Style" by Gatys et. al. Implementation was made using the VGG19 network, developed by the Visual Geometry Group at Oxford. Included total variation loss in the implementation.

Invited by professor of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore to participate in research.
